Leo has won his first Oscars 22 years after earned his first Oscar nomination in 1994 for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape when he was just 20 years old, and Mojisola Delano is happy and elated on his behalf…lol.
After his first nomination for in 1994, he was then nominated for Best Actor (The Aviator) in 2004-10 years later. He later earned a Best Actor nod for Blood Diamond in 2006. And most recently for the Wolf Of Wall Street in 2013. His spectacular performance in Django unchained was overlooked. His co star Christoph Waltz won best supporting actor that year for same movie.

But now he has won and the jinx is broken . History was made, and even if it was for 5 minutes, after the announcement was made, all was well in the world.(Lol)

Interestingly, when the actor climbed the stage to receive the prestigious gong, his emotions seemed to be well in control and he emphasised about climate change in his speech more than anything else.

Leonardo’s win more than anything else goes to show that indeed, no matter how qualified a person may be for an award, position  or anything,  it will not happen until the destined time for it, and when that time comes, all the forces of life will align in that person’s favour. Leonardo’s Oscar win and President Buhari becoming President last year are good examples of this, and we all should learn a lesson or two from their examples.

Again, Big congrats to Leonardo Dicarprio. This was is his destined year to win.
