Shocking footage of Military men maltreating a female Cadet at the Nigerian Defense Academy for unknown reasons has emerged online.
In a video, the military men were heard ordering the already muddied woman to rest on her head on a stick in a pool of dirty water.

At one point, the voice heard doling out the punishment instructions went ahead to call her a bastard amongst other invectives.

While all these was going on, some bystanders watched, while others supported the chief punisher with all sorts of snide comments.

Watch the disturbing video below:

Just few months back, President Muhammadu Buhari promised Nigerians  that his administration is committed to the rule of law. He warned officers, troops and newly commissioned cadets at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) that proven acts of human rights violation by the Armed Forces would be punished, yet this kind of inhuman treatment is still being meted out?

I cannot understand what anyone could have done to deserve this kind of life threatening punishment especially as a female. I really hope this video is investigated, and those involved brought to book.

This scene reminds me of the 90’s classic movie G.I. Jane staring Demi Moore.

The military is not a bed of roses, fairytale or sleep over pillow fight for anybody, the moment you sign in, you signed for whatever happens afterwards.
To be qualified you have to pass through test of perseverance, there are a lot of test our military personnel go through to be worthy of the military uniform.

We have to understand part of their basic training also means to pass through difficult and rigorous test that makes you self sufficient and being able to survive any situation, they can’t be in the battle field and still rely on others help.
Let’s also understand this test sometimes also prepare them to be able to survive if they’re capture by enemy forces, cos the rebels will not treat you like a queen and prepare tea for you. It’s all about the mental and psychological factors.

What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Gender equality is a two edge sword.

Why are some of you acting shocked and all over this video? A society where the lives of the people are of no value… where they butchered one another as they do to cows in the abattoirs. Why is this mere military torture of any importance? Haven’t you all seen pictures of children being butchered by fellow Nigerians? Wives slitting the throats of husbands …and vice versa in cold blood, haven’t you all seen where people are set ablaze cos of tomato and laptop theft, etc? We should just pretend we didnt see this video (it’s another world Inn the military) and KNOW that this is just a tip of the iceberg to the dis- humanity that has eaten deep into the dark hearts of you Nigerians.
