Is He Wrong? Yoruba Monarch Olowu Of Owu Under Fire For Wearing Suit On Throne (Photo)

King Rasheed Adewale Akanbi the Oluwo of Iwo, Osun State is currently under fire from for wearing a suit on the throne.

Critics are saying that by wearing a suit on the seat of authority , he is not upholding Yoruba culture, adding that monarchs outside the country or even outside Yoruba land will not be caught in any other attire except that which is synonymous to their culture .

Before ascending the throne of his fore fathers last year, he had spent about 20 years abroad and he is a foreigner.

Do you guys see anything wrong with a Nigerian Monarch dressed in a suit on the throne?  If yes why?

    This is very unacceptable to the Yoruba culture, even an ordinary chief can’t dress like this. He’s a Yoruba King and should dress according to Yoruba culture so if he’s not ready to accept that he should leave the throne.

    It’s so wrong on so many levels, he is a king who needs to uphold the tradition and not disrespect it. I don’t give a fu@k if he spent over a thousand years abroad, the moment he accepted the responsibilities of the throne, he should follow the rules and regulations. Africans always disobey their traditional rights, but it never happens overseas, they still keep their tradition.
