The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), just after releasing Mrs. Obanikoro on Thursday, invited Salewa Obanikoro, his first daughter, for questioning in connection with a recent transfer of 800 Million naira.

Obanikoro’s daughter met with the EFCC and  during investigations, they found out that his daughter gave a standing order to the bank that N800m should be moved into another account. This spawned a series of  questions as to why why such a young girl would have access to  a gargantuan  amount of money.

As for his other children, who are citizens of the United States, they have remained in the US for over a year with no signs that they will be visiting the country anytime soon.

However, the EFCC swiftly seized the US passport of Shalewa to prevent her from towing the path of her father and brothers.

But in a statement signed by Obanikoro’s media aide, Mr. Jonathan Eze, the former minister urged that his daughter should not be intimidated or bullied in any manner, standing by his comments that Salewa is a patriotic, hard-working and innocent woman, who is completely apolitical, adding that she was just a victim of a witch-hunt.
