President Buhari Appoints 5 New Heads For Strategic Health Institutions

President Muhammadu Buhari has on July 29 appointed five new heads of the strategic institutions in Nigeria.

This was made known via a statement issued by presidential personal assistant on new media Bashir Ahmad.

The institutions are:

  •  The Centre for Disease Control, 
  • National Agency for the Control of Aids
  • The Nigerian Institute for Medical Research. 
  • The National Primary Health Care Development Agency 
  • National Health Insurance Scheme. 

The new appointees are: 

  • NIMR – Prof Babatunde Salami 
  • NACA – Dr Sani Aliyu 
  • NHIS – Prof Usman Yusuf
  • NPHCDA – Prof Echezona Ezeanolue 
  • CDC – Dr Chikwe Andreas Ihekweazu 

All the five appointments have already taken effect.

    A good development by the president, though there’s still more to be done coz the rate at which the health sector is dwindling in standard is quite alarming!
