Chimamanda Adichie Mourns Literary Icon, Buchi Emecheta

Celebrated Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie just paid her condolence and mourned African Lietrary icon and female rights advocator, Buchi Emecheta.

Buchi Emecheta whom Chimamanda has always regarded as one of the great influences on her writing style recently who passed away on Wednesday, aged 72.

In a short tribute published in her official Facebook page, Miss Adichie wrote:

“Buchi Emecheta.
We are able to speak because you first spoke.
Thank you for your courage.
Thank you for your art.
Nodu na ndokwa.“
