Mavins boss, Don Jazzy signed up four amazingly gifted artistes today   all in a swoop!

The music producing whiz introduced all four artistes to the world this evening which was greeted with great excitement from his numerous fans.

In a series of tweets, the head man dropped the bombs.

First off the list was budding alternative singer, Johnny Drille who has garnered quite some recognition for himself with his amazing covers to popular songs including Adele’s Hello in 2015.

He even did a viral cover to Dija’s break out song ‘Awww’ in 2015. This cover even captured more hears than the original song did.

Johnny’s real name is John Ighodaro and he is still just 26 year old. He was born and raised  in Edo State, Nigeria. He is from a family of seven including a clergy father and mother. He graduated from the University of Benin in 2012 where he majored in English and Literature.

As an artist, Johnny followed up the recognition he got from his covers with a personal composition, a country/folksy song ‘Love Don’t Lie’ in June of the same year. August 12th 2015 also saw the release of the widely accepted ‘Wait For Me’.

The second set of artistes to be introduced by Don Jazzy are actually a duo. Does the name DNA Twins ring any bell?

This amazing  brothers have as much sync between them as the p-square brothers.

The boys, christened Blair and Clinton, were born on June 16 1996, to a polygamous family which had 11 other children. They attended Madonna Model Secondary School, Owerri, Imo State.

The public became aware of them after they decided to participate in the Abuja auditions of the 2013 Glo X-factor competition, just as they finished writing their secondary school final exams. They however got evicted from the competition at some point.

After their eviction, a little welcome party was thrown for them. Popular music acts, Bez and Burna Boy, who attended the reception, commended the twins for their impressive showings at the X Factor competition, and advised them to work relentlessly towards realizing their dreams.

The boys themselves declared at the time “This is not the end for us as we are going to use this platform to build on our musical dream. People should look out for us in the near future… we want to tell Nigerians, Africans wherever you are, watch out for DNA. Don’t be surprised to see us doing a song with P-Square.”

After their time on X-factor, they released their first single, titled ‘Mash Up Freestyle’, a combination of some top Nigerian songs, including ‘Soundtrack’ by May-D, and ‘Your Waist’ by Iyanya.

In 2016, it was even reported that the twins got kidnapped by gunmen amid much frenzy and they only regained their freedom after weeks.

But now, Blair and Clinton Roberts (thier real names) have gotten a shot and platform to show the world the stuff they are really made of.

The last artiste off Don Jazzy’s goody bag today was Rapper, POE.

Nigeria has always being the source of Africa’s most vibrant Hip Hop cultures.

Boasting a long list of notable lyricists that includes Modenine, M.I, Illbliss and more who can easily stand toe to toe with the best artists in the world.

And for over two years now I have been keeping my eye on a new lyricist that has the skills comparable to the notable Nigerian rappers I mentioned earlier.

Though his body of work is very limited, Poe has impressed me a great deal ever since I heard him on SDC’s Clone Wars project which was made in 2012.

Since then Poe has released a handful of singles and features that have continued to impress.

His unmistakeable voice, wordplay, and delivery should affix his name firmly on your “Artists to Watch” list.

He is another great lyricist to watch out for.

So there you have them all!
