Kelechi Iheanacho may not be having the best of times at Premier League club Manchester City at the moment, but he has made it clear he won’t be seeking an exit in the summer.

After his sensational breakthrough campaign last term, Iheanacho, 20, has fallen behind top striker Sergio Aguero and new Brazilian signing Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium under Pep Guardiola.

Amid speculation he is ready to force a move in order to get more playing time, the Nigerian international has made it clear he’s happy at the club and ready to fight for his place, Mirror writes.

“I’m very happy and very grateful to be in this team. I keep working hard every day and when I get my chance I have to prove to everyone I need to be in the squad, ” said Iheanacho, who’s scored seven goals in 24 appearances this season.

“It’s a great squad with great players. Everyone is working really hard, so everyone should be happy being in this team.

“I am improving every day. I keep learning and improving and that will help me in the future. I love it here,” he added.

Iheanacho scored the equaliser as
Nigeria held Senegal to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly played at The Hive, London last Thursday.
