“Pls, Stop Sending Me Unsolicited Scripts Or Film Ideas” – Kemi Adetiba Issues Warning To Scriptwriters

It seems like Kemi Adetiba is protecting herself from possible legal drama that might rear its head in the future.

Moments ago, the film director took to her social media to call out writers she says are sending her unsolicited scripts, noting that such moves exposes them to risk. “PLS stop sending me unsolicited scripts or film ideas. I delete as soon as I see title. It exposes us both,” the Wedding Party director tweeted.

I thoroughly understand the drive and hunger to break out, but you really shouldn’t send out finished scripts or film ideas without some written legal protection anyway,” she continued on her Instagram.

The warning comes just days after a Lagos High Court Judge ordered the seizure of Omono Oboli’s Okafor Law’s following the copyright infringement/trademark violation case filed against her by Raconteur Productions Ltd, on behalf of  the writer Jude Idada.

Recall that last weekend, the High Court issued a court injunction, banning the showing of the controversial film at the premiere slated for last Friday. Jude Idada had accused Omoni Oboli of stealing his idea for her latest movie, but the popular actress never addressed his complaints, until she was dealt a huge blow on the day slated for the movie premiere.

Now the movie has been seized, and we guess that’s why Kemi Adetiba is being cautious, especially in her case were writers are sending scripts without her asking them to do so.

I appreciate it, but I delete as soon as I see the words ‘…this great idea/script. I have a first degree in law.. I ain’t playing with y’all, ” she concluded.
