Nigeria’s Service Chiefs have arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, the epicenter of the Boko Haram insurgency, following the directive of Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, was the first to arrive in Maiduguri among the service chiefs on Tuesday.
Osinbajo gave the order at a meeting with Service Chiefs last week following a resurgence of devastating Boko Haram attacks in Maiduguri.
It was also resolved at the meeting that the government should procure more surveillance devices that will be able to see potential attackers from far distance.
