Govt Warns Lagosians Against Consumption Of Frozen Chicken(See Why)
Dear MDB readers, please stay off frozen chicken-at least for now.
This is the new warning from the Lagos State Government, to avoid consuming exhumed and contaminated poultry produce that is in circulation presently.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Toyin Suarau, said some imported contaminated products were seized by the Nigeria Customs Service in Badagry but were later exhumed by some people who planned to sell them to unsuspecting members of the public. The commissioner said the imported poultry produce was preserved with chemicals like formalin which was poisonous, adding that it could lead to slow death.
Suarau also added that the poisonous products were not as nutritious as freshly processed poultry meat because imported poultry meat had been preserved for months and years with dangerous chemicals.
This habit of some Nigerians exhuming contaminated poultry produce though…smh.
Na wa o is this how Nigerians are poverty striken?
Nigerians and their desperation for quick cash at the expense of people’s life is very alarming. My family have stayed away from frozen chicken and have now embraced live ones instead.
I’ll blame d Nigerian customs 4 dis…….After the wide publicity given to similar case in PH here, dey still went ahead to bury contaminated chickens without burning it to ashes #SMH
