It’s A Shame You Still Haven’t Rescued Chibok Girls – Soyinka Tells Buhari

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has described the Federal Government’s failure to rescue the missing Chibok girls as shameful.

The learned Prof said this yesterday while speaking at the inauguration of the N750 million Wole Soyinka Government High School in Ejigbo, Osun State, he lashed out at President Muhammadu Buhari and his team over the non-rescue of 219 Chibok schoolgirls, almost six months since Buhari’s inauguration.

“It is a shame that the nation cannot account for over 200 girls in Chibok. I sympathise with the religious policy of governments in school; children must not be brought up feeling that religion inhibits knowledge.

“In schools, we need not distinguish our children, the fatalistic religious holiness and the holier-than-thou attitude must be reduced among our pupils, ” he said.

But wait o, how far with the Chibok girls? Nothing seems to be happening as per bringing them back. Even social media campaigns have died down. Sad.

Like seriously, is anybody still thinking all these girls are together gathered somewhere and fondly taken care of (feeding, clothing, etc)by this sect?
Although sad to say, some of them must have died…accidentally, committed suicide, been used as suicide bombers, brainwashed to become devoted to the members of the group and all what nots!
    Where them wan see them?

It’s the Nigerian way, we shout for awhile and shut up, and the FG seems to figure out we’re a toothless bulldog, all barks, no bite, that’s why they humor us by pretending they care, but they don’t.

The way it is right now, it’s only God that can bring those girls back.

Words fail me. It’s so sad with all the promises made yet no effort to bring back our girls. God help us.
