LOL: Nigerians On Social Media React To Miss Nigeria Universe’s Traditional Costume,Say She Wore Sambisa Forest
Apart from Steve Harvey announcing the wrong winner at last nights Miss Universe, Nigerians are talking about the country’s representative to the show and her traditional costume.
A a result #MissNigeria is currently trending on Twitter.
Twitter users are saying Debbie Collins was doing remarkably well in the competition until she came out in her traditional costume looking like ‘Sambisa forest’. Others say she looked like a carrot or strawberry fruit, lool.
See photos below and some twitter reactions.
Compare her costume with that of other countries:
Considering the rich heritage of Nigeria, and how beautiful Debbie is, that forest costume did her no justice whatsoever. Better luck for Nigeria next time.
Moji, lol ur own judgement can’t even make me to say my mind. Hehe hehe
lmao…Edna say o…its a free world.
Nigerians have no chill pool. Kai. But mean, that costume is rubbish. Hian.
Debbie is so beautiful looking at her is giving me a hard on…. Lol.
Beautiful women. Miss Nigerias costume sure could have been better. Ordinary Calabar festival sef there are way better costumes than Debbies.
The costume designer is an Olodo mejo.
When I saw the costume, I was like, what the fu@k!!!
I think they should have left out the leaves, I know it stands for agriculture but they could have gone in other direction. Nigeria have great designers and silverbird is a great brand that can afford to get a lot of great designers together to develop a theme costume for the event, it’s all about preparation. This only shows they started work after the national pageant.
I don’t think you need to make our representatives look like animals to show them Africa. We have a rich culture that we can tap in, American culture is based on fiction, it’s made up, you can see by the costume. We have too much to choose from to show our originality, but still we’re clueless.
Miss USA look #Heavenly, like an extraterrestrial being #WonderWoman.
The leaves messed up the costumes, even though they were trying to fix in the agricultural aspect of Nigeria, but an touch of green would have done the trick. Better luck next time, #beautifuldebbie…. #Urockgirl
