Award Season Kicks Off With Bang! Lady Gaga, Emilia Clarke, Jeniifer Lopez Lead In Glamour At The 2016 Golden Globes Awards

Award season has kicked off with a bang with the stars bringing their A game to the red carpet.

This year at the 73rd annual Golden Globes, the red carpet was very colourful, but the obvious color for me was black.

As you know, I rate the celebs who in my view wowed with stars, 5 been excellent, 4  for very good.

My absolute favourite this  year is Lady Gaga. Why? I’ve never ever seen her look more beautiful. She shocked me by dumping her usual gaudy/dramatic dressing and went for effortless chic in a black velvet dress that accentuated her curves and highlighted her skin tone. She channeled Maryln Monroe with her blonde hair and kept the make up very minimal. She then finished off the look with lots of diamonds of her wrist and her best accessory- fiancé Taylor Kinney.

Another breathtaking  look was Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. She also opted for black, and looked like royalty in a cape number with a sheer full, pleated skirt. With her hair pulled to the back and light makeup, her beautiful face and dress had all the necessary attention. Another 5 star for me.

Also stunning on the red carpet was singer/actress Jlo and Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence. Jlo as usual went with a dramatic number but this time around in yellow and blinged out  accessories. For some the choice of color-yellow, the cape, and sparkling accessories may be a little too much, but she looked gorgeous still and deserved a 4 star. Jennifer Lawrence as always stunned in Dior. The Hunger Games star who also took home her third gong went with a red dress with cut outs at the side. She crowned the look with a gorgeous diamond choker and hair was on point too.

For the worst dressed I’d go with Cate Blanchet. This is because she wows on the red carpet but this year didn’t really meet the mark. Her vintage pink dress with fringe was a little dramatic and didn’t really have the class and effortless finesse Cate brings to the red carpet. She still looked beautiful of course(and maybe not the worst technically) but I was a little disappointed because I looked forward to her dress. Hopefully she will pick up the slack and resume her slaying habit as the award season progresses.
