Six out of 16 Catholic Seminarians of St Joseph Paris, Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state who were on their way to Community Encounter programme in Enugu state from Ikot-Ekpene on Monday lost their lives in a fatal auto crash.
Sources say that the driver was on top speed when one of the rear tyres burst. He then lost control and the bus somersaulted, leaving six of them in the pool of their blood.
One of those killed was identified simply as Emmy, believed to be in his late 20’s, and another, Dozie whom our source described as the future hope of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Okofia Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra state.
The 10 survivors are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital, while the deceased have since been deposited at the morgue.
Sadly, the incident comes barely a month after Four Reverend Sisters Died in a Ghastly Motor Accident(Read HERE), as reported by MDB. The fatal accident occurred along the Nkarasi/Alok axis of the Ikom-Ogoja highway in Cross-River state.
Really sad. May God rest their should, Amen.
