Just In! Finally Senate Passes 2016 Budget
The Senate on Wednesday, passed the 2016 Appropriation Bill sent to joint session of the national assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari, on December 22, 2015.
This comes 3 months after President Muhammadu Buhari submitted the initial copy of the nation’s budget.
Since its submission, the 2016 budget has been the subject of heated national discourse, owing to the discovery of several inflated figures, inconsistent budgeting and outright padding of the document – hence, the delay.
The Senate, after the third and final reading, passed the nation’s N6,077,680,000,000 budget which was presented by the president to a joint session of the National Assembly.
