The 1,109-carat diamond, shown to British media on Tuesday, was uncovered last November in Botswana by Canadian mining company Lucara Diamond Corp.

The gem, whose name translates as “Our Light” in Botswana’s SeTswana language, is the size of a tennis ball.

It was previously displayed it in New York by auction house Sotheby’s.

It will be auctioned on June 29.

The largest diamond ever is the 3,106-carat “Cullinan Diamond” found in South Africa in 1905. From that was cut the “First Star of Africa,” which now adorns the Royal Scepter — one of the British crown jewels now on display at the Tower of London.

Na wa o…why cant I just diamonds in my backyard or something…lol.
