Lieutenant Jim Mulligan of Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed as many as 17 people had been wounded and one person has been pronounced dead in a shooting that happened at a Teenage party in Florida,USA.
This event happened early this morning as a survivor explained that the gunman opened fire just minutes after a scheduled party had started. He was carrying a bag all dressed in black and armed with a sub-machine gun.
Unfortunately,the suspect escaped few minutes before the police arrived.
The mother of one of the survivors made a statement as well
,she said and I quote: ‘ I just thank God that my daughter is okay. She could have been shot. She was dodging bullets and dropping between cars. It is ridiculous that kids have to go through this and they cannot enjoy themselves because you have people with criminalistic minds who want to terrorise people.
She was running away from bullets so she wouldn’t get shot. Her friend got shot in the leg.’
The Police detained however ‘one person of interest’ at a second nearby location where a similar crime was about to occur. Investigations are underway to conclude whether it was a hate crime aimed at black teenage Americans who were in the majority attending the occasion.
