How Countless Women In Akwa Ibom Were Hypnotised And Raped By Three Tricycle Riders
The Akwa Ibom Police Command at the weekend paraded members of a three-man gang who allegedly specialized in raping girls around Uyo metropolis.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, paraded the suspects: James Etim, 24, Charles Essien, 27, and Utebe Archibong, 29 before newsmen at the state command headquarters.
According to the PPRO, the suspects go around Uyo metropolis using a commercial tricycle (Keke Napep) to pick unsuspecting female passengers before hypnotising and raping them.
While Etim and Essien pretended to be passengers, Archibong rode the Keke Napep.
They were however apprehended by a team of State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID and Special Anti-Robbery, SARS, following a tip-off by one of their victims.
Their last victim, an undergraduate of the University of Uyo was said to have reported the matter to the police despite threats from them.
From infornation gathered,it was disclosed that while aboard the tricycle, their victim was hypnotised and then taken to a place where she was raped several times.
The suspects are in custody and are to be charged to court come Thursday this week.
They should let them live but amputate their third legs.
