Olympic Fever Starts As Usain Bolt Arrives Rio 2016
As the fever of excitement over the Olympic Games builds, Usain Bolt says in confidence that he is ready to light up Rio 2016.
The world’s fastest man is bidding and defending his gold medals in Brazil, and also hoping to become the first athlete to win the 100- and 200-meter as well as the 4×100-meter relay title at three consecutive Games.
Bolt in a relaxed mood spoke with journalists on the 12th floor of a Brazilian hotel, showing no signs of self-doubt after a frustrating year so far.
“I know the sport needs me to win or it needs me to come out on top and that’s the same thing I want,” the 29-year-old told reporters. “We want the same thing, so I’m just working hard and staying focused.”
Bolt, sometime in June was forced out of the 200-meter final at the Jamaican trials with a torn hamstring, even with that he had made a time of 9.88 seconds over 100 meters sprint.
Insisting he’s feeling stronger and fully recovered from the injury, Bolt says he can still run faster than he’s ever ran before.

Bolt looked a little tight warming up, with possibly a barely perceptible limp, and he was slow out of the blocks, as he often is. “It wasn’t the best start, I feel kind of sluggish. I think it’s the fact that it’s the morning,” he said, having arrived at the track in good time for the early afternoon start.
