President Buhari Appoints 5 New Heads For Strategic Health Institutions
President Muhammadu Buhari has on July 29 appointed five new heads of the strategic institutions in Nigeria.
This was made known via a statement issued by presidential personal assistant on new media Bashir Ahmad.
The institutions are:
- The Centre for Disease Control,
- National Agency for the Control of Aids
- The Nigerian Institute for Medical Research.
- The National Primary Health Care Development Agency
- National Health Insurance Scheme.
The new appointees are:
- NIMR – Prof Babatunde Salami
- NACA – Dr Sani Aliyu
- NHIS – Prof Usman Yusuf
- NPHCDA – Prof Echezona Ezeanolue
- CDC – Dr Chikwe Andreas Ihekweazu
All the five appointments have already taken effect.
A good development by the president, though there’s still more to be done coz the rate at which the health sector is dwindling in standard is quite alarming!
