The Supreme Court yesterday announced the names of 22 lawyers who are to be conferred with the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria-SAN.
Among the chosen 22 for this year, is the Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Mr. Olanrewaju Onadeko.
The conferment of the prestigious rank on the 22 lawyers brings a total number of Senior Advocates of Nigeria to 451.
The Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Ahmed Gambo Saleh who doubles as the Secretary of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), announced the list in Abuja.
Ahmed disclosed that a total of 55 lawyers were shortlisted out of the 131 that applied.
The Chief Registrar said the new SANs will be sworn in on September 19, 2016.
