US Secretary Of State Meets With New British Prime Minister For The First Time Today
US Secretary of State John Kerry today became the first senior foreign official to meet British Prime Minister Teresa May since she took office after the Brexit referendum.
Kerry visited May at her Downing Street office on the last day of a five-stop tour of European capitals, ahead of talks with the British, German, French and Italian foreign ministers on the conflict on Syria.
Washington was dismayed by last month’s British vote to leave the European Union, seeing the Jun 23 referendum result as a blow to Western unity and to the world economy.
But both Kerry and US President Barack Obama has assured that the ties between Britain and the United States will remain as strong as always.
Good for them…
