Usain Bolt’s victory in the 100m final at the Rio Olympics earned him £5million-a-second, financial experts have claimed.
The Jamaican stormed to his third successive 100m title and seventh gold medal overall as he bids for an unprecedented ‘triple triple‘.
Eperts say the success, which was secured as he raced home in 9.81 seconds, has doubled his earning potential in the next 12 months.
He has amassed a £47million fortune in advertising and sponsorship deals over the course of his career so far which is expected to hit £55million in the next year.
