Drake and Rihanna have a complicated but intense relationship. They’ve been friends for years and are reportedly dating now, and the 29-year-old rapper just admitted on live television that he loves her — and has for a very long time. While presenting her with the Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Drake opened up about their relationship, and said that he’s had feelings for her since he was 22 years old.
“[Rihanna]’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. All of my adult life, I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry,” he said.
When presenting her with the award, he leaned in for a kiss on the lips — and she demurely gave him her cheek.
To be honest at some point during the night I was starting to think he was going to propose…lol. Hope this all ends in wedding bells Sha.
