BREAKING: INEC Declares APC’s Godwin Obaseki As Winner Of Edo Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC)Mr. Godwin Obaseki winner of just concluded Edo State gubernatorial election.
He defeated his main rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, with 66,310 more votes.
Obaseki polled by 319,483 votes as against Ize-Iyamu’s 253, 173 votes.
In total 613,244 votes was cast with 582,299 declared as valid votes. 30,945 votes was rejected.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Kayode Soremekun, who declared Obaseki winner, said he had met all conditions required to be returned as governor elect for the state.
