ITS FINALLY OUT! THE NEW APPLE IPHONE 7 HAS BEEN INTRODUCED TO THE WORLD

The iPhone is Apple’s bread and butter. The company has sold over 1 billion of the devices since it launched in 2007, according to Cook. The latest version iphone7 has launched this evening but isn’t a huge departure from the iPhone 6S. It however has a few key upgrades.

It’s water and dust resistant, which is different from waterproof but still an improvement over “easily killed by water.”

The larger iPhone 7plus has two side-by-side12-megapixel cameras. One is wide angle and one is telephoto. It gives users 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. The smaller iPhone 7 still has one, lone camera on the back. The cameras on both phones have been updated with optical image stabilizer, a new lens and a 12 megapixel sensor that’s faster. The flash has four LEDs and can detect the flickers of artificial lighting to better compensate.

The Home button is force sensitive. Instead of knowing you pressed the button because it clicked, it will vibrate. Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller said the revolutionary new button is “creating new feelings and experiences that could not have been created before.”

The iPhone 7 now comes in two new colors: a high gloss jet black finish and a matte black. It’s also still available in exist colors gold, silver and rose gold (yes, pinkgold).

Apple has removed the earphone port from the iPhone 7. Wired headphones, like Apple’s own EarPods, will now connect over the Lightning port instead. 

FEATURES OF THE NEW IPHONE 7

No headphone jack – The technology firm is bundling ‘EarPods’ with a Lightning connector, as well as a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter in the box

Airpod headphones – Apple has introduced its own wireless headphones, called AirPods.

New colours – A ‘dark black’ model has replaced its Space Grey finish. This will sit alongside the silver, gold and rose gold finishes that have been popular parts of previous line ups

Water resistance – Apple introduces IPX7 water resistance, which already exists on its first Apple Watch model

More powerful chip – The current A9 chip would be replaced with an updated A10 processor made by TSMC, which could run at speeds up to 2.45 GHz

Dual lens camera – A dual-lens rear camera is coming to the iPhone 7 Plus, but not to the smaller iPhone 7

Redesigned home button – the home button is fit flush against the chassis, which is a result of the new water resistant design

Wide colour display – The new iPhone is includes a wide colour display technology that was introduced on the iPad Pro

Stereo speakers – The earpiece receiver is be upgraded at the top of the device to work as a speaker

APPLE WATCH 2

As well as the iPhone 7, Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch 2 at the event. 

While the first generation watch launched at a starting price of $349 (£299), Apple recently dropped the price down to $299 (£225).

Despite this change, there are not likely to be many other changes to the original square screen design. However ,the screen resolution, data storage and battery life are all expected to get a boost.

A new wireless chip could also allow for basic communication tasks to be handled without a paired iPhone, and the same technology may also mean that lost Apple Watches could be found using Wi-Fi.
