EFCC Detains Fani-Kayode’s Wife Precious , 8-month Old Son
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday detained Precious Chikwendu aka Snowwhite, the wife of the spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, and his son, Aragorn.
FFK through a statement released on Monday evening, said his wife had gone to Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, to see Governor Ayodele Fayose when she stopped at the branch of Access Bank in the town to withdraw money.
The statement by Fani-Kayode suggested that the staff of the Bank invited the operatives of the EFCC who stormed the Bank and detained, brutalized and humiliated Chikwendu.
He said the arrest was an indirect was of getting at him by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The statement by Fani-Kayode, unedited, reads:
This government is sick and cowardly and so are the EFCC. If you have a problem with me face me and leave my family alone.
My wife travelled to Ado Ekiti to see my friend and brother Governor Fayose and his family.
They were on their way out of town when they went to Access Bank in Ado Ekiti to get some money.
When they got there, my 8 month old son Aragorn and wife Precious Chikwendu were illegally detained, brutalised and put under arrest on the orders of the EFCC at a bank in Ado Ekiti today.
She has never had any business with me, she has never been formally invited by the EFCC or asked any questions about her transactions and neither have they written to her on any issue even though they are always sending letters to my house and sending people there.
If Buhari wants to deal with me why doesnt he face me like a man instead of trying to harm and hurt my 8 month old son and wife.
Had it not been for the intervention of Governor Ayo Fayose they would have been taken them away and subjected them to all manner of harm and indignities simply because she is married to me.
This was an account that has 200,000 naira in it and that has never had more than 500,000.
She has operated it since 2005 and she stopped using it in 2013. The account has no connection with me and I did not know it existed till today.
In an attempt to starve and harass me and my family all my accounts and wife’s accounts have been frozen. Now they are resorting to arresting peoples wives and children for no just cause.
I thank God for Gov. Fayose and the people of Ado Ekiti who stormed the bank and freed my wife from this illegal detention and attempt to kidnap them.
Had it not been for the governor’s intervention and presence, the bank would have been burnt down by the crowd. My family have since left Ekiti State.
This is Buhari’s Nigeria and we will resist his wickedness and tyranny.
We intend to sue the bank and to sue the EFCC for this illegal and wicked action. They have no right to do this. If they want to see my wife all they need to do is to invite her. We have nothing to fear. They do not need to be so primitive and barbaric to people.”

Something about this story doesn’t just sit well. EFCC detaining Precious over a mere withdrawal? There just maybe more to this story.
There’s sure an end to everything under the sun .
Now we truly have a crisis as even journalist across board seems lost on use of words!
Being delayed within the bank on a flagged account can not be called “detention”.
In any case, Wikie prevented men of SSS from carrying on its duties, now Fayose is said to have prevented “arrest” by EFCC and to make matter worse, he swore that Access Bank will not operate in Ekiti till his tenure end! So, how does he expect Ekiti residents banking with the bank have access to their funds?
PMB might need to learn from OBJ on how to deal with State Governors who seems to want to take the laws of the land for granted!
@ Boi, I truly want to believe you just want to make comments that’s all. For Christs sake this is a democratic state not some sort of military regime! In a democratic there is this main feat we call Human rights, which is inclusive of freedom of movement. And for someone’s movement to be delayed according to you does not sound lawful to me.
Secondly, for you to actually applaud the use of coercion against opposition simply because he knows the system too well, is barbaric and does not sound democratic to me. For a better governance opposition party is most essential in a democratic system of government. For you to be calling on our tyrant of a president to shut up or down an opposition sounds quite unruly and ignorant to me. What this government should be focused on now is how to alleviate the sufferings of the innocent citizens of this country. Not this Napoleon nine bitches of an EFCC please. All the recoveries they have made so far since this administration that has painted itself snowhite, where the heck is it? That we will be talking about borrowing $30bn? Nonsense!!!!
