Many Injured As Popular Church In Akwa Ibom Collapses During Event While Governor Was In Attendance

The foundation building of a popular church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital Reigners Bible Church located at Uyo Village road, off Barrack road collapsed today while a church event was ongoing, leaving many people injured.

The state governor Emmanuel Udom was present at the church when it collapsed. He was to be ordained a Bishop in the church today. The Governor however escaped unharmed.

Sources say that the building was hurriedly finished to meet up with today’s ceremony, leading to the tragedy.
The governor has promised full investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.
