Ace musician, 2Baba has called out “all tiers of government that have turned a blind eye” on the issue of non-payment of allowances and bonuses of the Super Falcons.

Former Super Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo,  also has expressed his sadness over the poor treatment meted on players of the Super Falcons since they returned from this 2016 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Since returning from the Women’s AFCON, the Falcons are yet to be paid their outstanding allowances by the cash-strapped Nigeria Football Federation, and have not been hosted nor rewarded by the federal government. On Wednesday morning the Falcons decided to embark on a protest march at the entrance of the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, agitating for their outstanding allowances and bonuses estimated to be $24,000 each, approximately N11.5m per player.

2Baba took to Instagram to voice out his anger:

Some people have been collecting outrageous salaries and allowances 4 doing nothing meanwhile these patriotic Nigerian girls have done us proud over and over and over and someone or some people feel say na their mouth money sweet pass or needs their money more than them. Shame on all tiers of government that have turned a blind eye on this issue. Somebody/some people need to be fired because of this heartless disgraceful act. #superfalcons#africanchampions deserve better#payoursportsheroes

Reacting to the protest march by the Super Falcons, Joseph Yobo called on the concerned bodies to look into the issue.

“My feelings are hurt by the treatment of our champions, the Super Falcons. This issue must be resolved for the dignity of our sports people,” Yobo wrote on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Comedian Alibaba also  gave his views on the Falcon’s demonstration to the National Assembly. Read his post carefully though, because it is steeped in sarcasm.

When a delegation of the National Assembly go represent us outside Nigeria, did they get their estacodes? What about the OPEC meetings? Do ministers who go on foreign trips to shore up our international relevance and bring FDI… ask that funds be released to them? When it even comes to elections, do monies that were meant for prosecuting a war get promptly diverted to win the elections, while the dispensable soldiers get blown to eternity? Do the soldiers who then protest get courtmatialled? So what is all these noise about? Have you heard that the retirees who served this country and still haven’t gotten pensions, die on the reaccreditation queues complain? These Falcons are lucky they were not soldiers! The gaurdroom they would have been put would have been cold and humbling. How dare you? How dare you ask? How dare you even think of protesting? OK the silver medalists got celebrated in their countries… so? See,… you are all better behave yourselves. The other room is occupied so there is no room for this recalcitrant behaviour. Protesting for peanuts! Mscheeeeeeeeew! Can’t you see how we treat our stadia? Go and ask well… some people who played with Segun Odegbami don’t have their gifts yet. Do the maths. Go solve the mathematics of we-don’t-care-raised-to-power-shioooor. Are you the first to represent your country. Okwaraji died. We no send am. Talk less you sumall sumall girls that don’t know anything. Falcons kor… far cry ni.
