If this doesn’t signal a fresh start, i don’t know what else will. Popular actress, Toyin Aimakhu is leaving behind many things in 2016, including her surname- Aimakhu.
The multiple award winning actress who has effected the name change on her Instagram bio and other social media handles now wants to be known and addressed as Toyin Abraham.
According to the 32-year-old, the change of name has nothing to do with marriage or anything along those lines, but it is a family decision.
Toyin Aimakhu’s PR team released a statement to this effect on Instagram which she reposted on her own page.

“Multiple-Award winning actress formerly known as Toyin Aimakhu will be called Toyin ABRAHAM from now onwards.
The actress said the reason behind her name change, “is a family decision and will like to be officially addressed as Toyin Abraham henceforth.” Presently the actress is busy working on her new project; Alakada Reloaded.”
It looks like 2017 will be a year of new beginnings for the actress who has been through the wringer this year. Her failed romance with Nollywood producer, Seun Egbegbe which ended with threats, tales of kidnap and police intervention, the Mayowa Ahmed saga, the unending cycle of covert and overt digs between herself and ex-husband- Niyi Johnson.
