Lalaland Wins 7 Awards , Becomes Most Successful Film Of All Time At The Golden Globe Awards
L[dropcap][/dropcap]a La Land became the most successful film of all time at the Golden Globe Awards after picking up seven awards on Sunday night.
The movie took home Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Ryan Gosling, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Emma Stone, Best Screenplay and Best Director for Damien Chazelle, Best Score, and Best Original Song for the song City Of Stars.
The previous record for the most wins was six awards, held by both Midnight Express and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest; the last time film to win more than four Golden Globes was Midnight Express in 1978.
Moonlight took home Best Motion Picture – Drama, also making history as the first film by a black writer and director to win Best Picture at the ceremony, while French drama Elle was also a big winner, picking up Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actress – Drama for Isabelle Huppert.
