Exiled Gambian ruler Yahya Jammeh shipped out luxury vehicles by cargo plane and emptied the state coffers in his final weeks in power, a special adviser for the new president said Sunday.
In just two weeks, Jammeh reportedly made off with more than $11.4 million.
He tried to take 13 vehicles but some are still at the Gambian airport as the cargo aircraft couldn’t carry all vehicles.
Mr. Jammeh left the country on Saturday to begin his exile after initially refusing to cede power to Adama Barrow who had defeated him in the presidential election last December.
No wonder he didn’t want to relinquish power. SMH.
