Kemi Afolabi reportedly has lost her baby following a violent altercation with touts who disrupted their movie shoot early this week.
According to sources close to the movie director, this sad development comes 3 days after a group of Lagos touts stormed her movie location in Ikorodu and tried to extort money from her. Her crew members sustained injuries during the attack, including the film producer Ijuade Azeez who suffered a broken leg.
It was during this altercation that one of the touts allegedly hit the newly pregnant mother in the stomach causing bleeding which lead to a full miscarriage later.
“One of the hoodlums hit her in the tummy and she started bleeding,” Afolabi’s spokesperson, Wale Adesipe, said, adding that the film director was expecting her second child with her UK-based partner who is now devastated.
Kemi Afolabi is currently on admission at an undisclosed hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos.
