After a successful football career, Super Eagles great ‘Austin Jay Jay’ Okocha has taken his love for golf to another level.
In a career that spanned 20 years, Jay Jay Okocha played football for the likes of Bolton Wanderers of England, Paris Saint-Germain of France and Fenerbahçe of Turkey.
Now, Jay Jay who has been a huge golf enthusiast was hosted at the Barclays Pro-AM Open which kicked off Kenya on Wednesday, March 22.
At the commencement of the open, the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner was pictured warming up for his tee off.
Okocha’s appearance acts as a curtain raiser for the Barclays open and gives an opportunity to Kenyan amateurs to play and learn from the best in the golfing world.
During the Barclays Open which tees off on Wednesday to culminates on Sunday, March, 26, there will be a total of 156 golfers drawn from across the world.
€220,000 are at stake at the Open with the winner taking home €32,000.
Aside from playing golf, Okocha will also speak to university students under the Barclays ReadytoWork programme and also interact with customers.
