The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been hit with yet another tragic news of the death of a member, this time the sad news comes from Enugu State.
According to eyewitnesses present at the scene, a female NYSC member identified as Francisca Okonkwo, passed on yesterday on her way back from the compulsory CDS meeting, when a truck collided with their commuter bus.
The truck driver reportedly was trying to make a U-Turn while at a high speed around 9th Mile, when it lost control and slammed into the bus which was picking up passengers at the side of the road.
7 people reportedly were seriously injured and immediately rushed to a close by hospital.
Francisca Okonkwo died at the scene.
The sad news comes just a month after two members posted to Taraba State died in a terrifying auto accident along the Taraba-Benue Expressway .
Only in December, President Buhari mourned the death of three serving corps members whose passing stunned Nigerians.
The NYSC secretariat had yet to make a statement on Francisca Okonkwo’s death as at press time.
