Toke Makinwa Finally Addresses Maje Ayida’s N100m Lawsuit
Toke Makinwa has finally spoken up after Maje Ayida slammed her with a N100m lawsuit.
In a new episode of her vlog series titled ‘Daddy Issues’, the media queen started by addressing her legal battle with her ex husband. While assuring fans that her lawyers are handling the messy case, she voiced her fears, saying she hopes she doesn’t lose out at the end of the drama.
“As you guys might have read, there is a lot going on in the news. The little that I have, let’s just hope that I still have it after [it all],” she began, smiling.
“For all the people that reached out to me: my lawyers are on it. So, I don’t think you guys have anything to worry about it. It is what it is. It’s going to be an interesting year, I must say,” she continued, and added that she doesn’t really worry about what people say about her on the internet.
“I don’t really believe in the public’s opinion,” she said.
Recall that in February, Maje Ayida, whose lawyers previously served Makinwa a letter of demand, slammed her with a massive lawsuit over her controversial book, On Becoming, which he says contains defamatory words that hurt his brand.
The case is currently sitting at the Lagos High Court, pending when hearing will begin.
Though, Toke Makinwa had been perceived as being fearless in the face of all the drama, especially because she ignored all of the drama and jets around the world for her book tour, she admits she is a tad afraid.
However, she went on her Instagram to speak on why she welcomes fear.
