Tragic! Nigeria National Assembly Clerk Slumps and Dies On Duty
A National Assembly clerk attached to the House of Representatives committee on agricultural production and services, Mohammed Shuaibu slumped and died on Monday as he walked a staircase at the assembly complex.
Shuaibu was said to have suddenly dropped to the floor around 12pm and was immediately rushed by passers-by to the National Assembly clinic.
It however appeared too late as doctors at the clinic confirmed the national assembly clerk dead on arrival.
Shuaibu’s remains have been taken to his hometown for burial.
Chairman of the House of Representatives committee on agricultural production and services, Hon Mohammed Tahir Monguno (APC, Borno), is quoted by Vanguard to have said that the clerk returned to Abuja from Zaria on Sunday ahead of a meeting of the committee but died few minutes before the meeting.
Monguno also described Shuaibu as a hard working person who was deployed to the committee about a year ago.
