Chinese And Me: Mr Chang Review
Mr . Chang
120, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
I fell in love with Chinese food about the same time i discovered seafood, i grew up in a home where it was either beef, egg, fish or chicken. Snail was for the father of the house, occasionally. LOL.
It was really amazing to know that seafood was healthy food that i could eat without having to really worry about the calories or if my jeans would fit after, and as i explored recipes and restaurants, Chinese found me! Thank God!
It was tricky at first, I had to try numerous outlets and dishes before I eventually found what works for me. It was one afternoon I was lamenting in Awolowo traffic and the fact that I didn’t have the patience for insane drivers when my friend suggested Chinese. She swore on her tastebuds that the food was amazing and it was nothing short of it.
The ambience was really warm and cozy with very soft lightening. The architecture and art works too are quite interesting, with all the Chinese lanterns going on.
Their service was very professional, and the waiters were attentive, and polite.
We didn’t have appetizers because Fit-Fam and we really didn’t need the extra calories so we ordered cocktails, I had sex on the beach (which by the way is my favorite for the week) and the cocktail mix was amazing, one of the best I’ve had.
We had a main of special seafood fried rice (which had quite a lot of seafood in it)
and shrimp sauce which we got in less time than chinese would normally take.
We ordered medium sized portions of both to share as the waiter advised and we both couldn’t finish it. The sauce was especially very filling. We could not stop going, we just kept loading up on the gloriousness of it.
15 minutes after I was grinning from ear to ear, belly bulging and we still had some food left. Of course I told the waiter to pack it. It is absolutely on top of the list of the best Chinese I’ve had in recent times and i will be going back a couple more times.
Our wallets took a hit, but then there isn’t anywhere that good Chinese is cheap. Also, the cocktails aren’t overpriced.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Chinese.
What if i am the picky type..lol..you should drop a certified location too..tested and trusted just in case the craving comes…
