Tinubu’s First Daughter Welcomes Her First Child Via Surrogacy
After many years of marriage, Shade Tinubu-Ojo, first daughter of the National leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has welcomed her first baby, a boy, through surrogacy, according to PmNews.
Surrogacy is a method or agreement whereby a woman agrees to carry a pregnancy for another person or persons, who will become the newborn child’s parent after birth.
Shade, the Iya-Oloja General of Lagos State, welcomed the baby on 25 December, 2017. The naming ceremony has been fixed for Monday, January 1, 2018.
Surrogacy as was done by Tinibu’s daughter is not the traditional surrogacy you just described. In this case, She is indeed the child’s mother from conception since it was her eggs used. They were merely renting the surrogate’s uterus to carry the pregnancy to term. This boy is not biologically related to the surrogate.
In the case of Nike Oshinowo who used a donor egg, she became the mother after the baby was born.
