Comedian AY Reveals Why He Spent 9 Years at The University
Nigerian top comedian, Ayo Makun popularly known as AY, has narrated why he spent 9 years in the university even when the system is not meant to take more than four or five years to scale through.
He spoke of how the demise of his father and mother left him with a lot of responsibilities that he had to shoulder.
All of that led to him finding it difficult to graduate from Delta State University on time.

In December 1999 when my dad passed, It was difficult to take over his position as the first son. It became even more difficult when my mum decided to join him in no time.
Embracing the reponsibilities of taking care of my four sisters and two baby brothers wasn’t the best message to preach to a waiting landlord whose rent must be paid in due time.
The combination of being a big brother and father came with a price that kept me in Delta State University for 9 years as a student.
AY whose full names are Ayodeji Richard Makun, was born on August 19 and hails from Ifon, Ose local government in Ondo State. He won several awards such as the most fashionable student on campus (1999 and 2000); best show-biz promoter (2001); the most celebrated student on campus (2001) and the Jaycee club socio-personality award (2003).
He’s a UN ambassador and has a hit movie titled 30 days in atlanta .
He runs one of the best TV comedy shows, AY Live and also holds an annual comedy plus music concert in Lagos and even abroad. He’s married to Mabel Makun and they are blessed with a beautiful daughter.
