Just In: Fayemi Resigns As Minister To Focus On Defeating Fayose’s Deputy
Minister of Mines and Steel Development Dr. Kayode Fayemi has resigned to concentrate on defeating Kolapo Olusola, Governor Ayo Fayose’s deputy, at the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Fayemi is said to have tendered his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari three weeks ago, but it officially takes effect from today Wednesday, May 30.
Fayemi, is the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer in the election having won a rescheduled primary of the party on May 12. He won the primaries after polling 941 votes. The aspirant who came closest were Segun Oni with 481 votes.
The former minister will officially address press men at his office today. We will keep you posted as more details unfold .
