Tinder Date Killed And Chopped Up In Sexual Fantasy Gone Wrong
A 24-year-old woman has lost her life as a result of what the accused is calling a ‘Tinder date gone wrong’.
Sydney Loofe’s body was found dumped and in pieces in a field near the town of Edgar, Nebraska. Sydney Loofe, 24, met Bailey Boswell, 23, on Tinder. Weeks after meeting on the app, Loofe, from Lincoln, went out with Boswell on November 15. Before the date, Loofe posted a selfie on Snapchat saying, “ready for my date”. She was never seen again after that day.
Trail has previously said he did kill her, but claims it was during a sexual fantasy gone wrong. Both have been charged with first degree murder and prosecutors are considering seeking the death penalty should they be found guilty.
Police say Sydney was abused and strangled to death with an extension cord before her body was chopped up and dumped. The couple are also charged with the improper disposal of skeletal remains.
Sydney is claimed to have matched with Boswell on and the duo went on a date on November 14. Court documents say the duo then went on a second date on November 15.
She was then reported missing the next day sparking a major police search. Trail’s home was searched on November 19, and they were publicly named as persons of interest – before releasing a video defending themselves on Facebook.
Boswell and Trail were spotted on CCTV buying tools and supplies from a Home Depot on November 15. It is believed these were used in the dismemberment and dumping of Sydney’s body in rural Clay County.
Her body was discovered by the FBI on December 5, and meanwhile Boswell and Trail are accused of handling stolen goods. The couple have been in custody ever since at the Saline County jail – with both pleading guilty to fraud.
Sydney’s pal Terra Gehring told local radio that she was looking forward to a second date after a successful match on Tinder.
She said: “She texted me and told me about the date she had (and) how great it went and she was excited to go on another date with her again Wednesday night.”
Court documents reveal Trail told FBI agents he had strangled the girl with an extension cord. And he even publicly claimed he had killed her, claiming Boswell was “wiped out from drugs” and that it was all part of a sexual fantasy.
Trail gave an interview with a newspaper back in January, and even said “I should be put to death”.
He said: “It wasn’t supposed to go to the extreme it went, of course not.
“It wasn’t meant that she was to die.”
Her death has not been ruled accidental, and prosecutors are pursing the hardest possible charges. Last month, a boxer killed his Tinder date before dismembered her and killing himself.
