APC Governorship Primaries: Lagos CP Imohim Edgal Promises Watertight Security, Warns Policemen
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal, has assured Lagosians of the police readiness to provide watertight security during the All Progressive Congress Governorship Primaries which will hold on Saturday, September 29, 2018 across the local government areas of the state.
The CP urges party faithfuls to be law-abiding and steer clear from any conduct that can jeopardize free, fair and peaceful conduct of the election. He advises the aspirants to talk to their supporters to shun violence. Any person caught engaging in acts capable of constituting a breach of the public peace will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
To ensure adequate security across the state during the exercise, the CP will hold meetings with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and heads of departments to ensure that due diligence is followed during the primaries.
The command, as usual, will refrain from any partisan practice and urges its men and officers not to compromise the credible conduct of the exercise. The CP stresses that severe punishment will be meted out to any policeman who meddles in the election.
The CP enjoins members of the public to promptly alert the police to any act that may threaten the credible and peaceful conduct of the exercise.
