Mac Miller’s death from drug overdose has raised suspicions after police found his house had been scrubbed clean of drugs.
The 26-year-old rapper who was found dead in his Studio City, Calif., home on Friday of an apparent overdose, was last seen alive on Thursday night and had people around his house that evening and on Friday when emergency services rushed to the scene following a 911 call at around noon.
Investigating cops found just a tiny amount of white powder at his San Fernando Valley home, and witnesses told police that the house was “almost swept clean” to get rid of evidence of drug use.
Nobody has yet stepped forward to say they made the 911 call, but it’s thought one of Mac’s male friends begged paramedics for help and said the patient was in cardiac arrest.
Mac was pronounced dead at the scene in a bedroom and a coroner’s van arrived a short while later to take his body away.
Toxicology tests have been requested, but Mac’s official cause of death cannot be confirmed until they come back.
Mac Miller, whose real name is Malcolm James McCormick, had struggled with substance abuse in the past. Just last month, the Los Angeles Attorney’s Office officially charged the rapper with a DUI stemming from a car accident in May in the San Fernando Valley.
He had been open about his struggles previously, referencing drug abuse and death in his music, particularly in the largely autobiographical 2014 mixtape “Faces.”
