Two Dead And Four Critically Injured As Multiple People Are Shot At A Bank In Downtown Cincinnati
Two people have been killed and four others critically injured after a gunman opened fire in a bank in downtown Cincinnati early this morning.
The shooting occurred at 9.10am in the lobby and the loading dock area at Fifth Third Bank at 511 Walnut Street, according to police. The Cincinnati Police Department sent out a tweet at 9.23am reporting an “active shooter/officer involved shooting incident”.
According to Cincinnati Enquirer, one victim was found at the intersection of 5th and Walnut Street while another was located inside Graeter’s Ice cream shop near the busy Fountain Square.
A witness told the paper he saw a woman walking into Fifth Third Bank with her headphones on and getting shot by the gunman.
At least two ambulances were seen leaving the scene. Federal agents were also on the scene of the deadly incident.
Streets around the building at the city’s Fountain Square have been closed as were sidewalks.
According to conflicting reports, the gunman is either deceased or in police custody. No motive has been released.
