A two-year-old girl was abducted and r-ped beside a railway track, and left for dead on Saturday.
The child, who cannot be identified, was gagged and taken away from her parents as they slept just yards away further down the line.
She was raped beside the tracks in Delhi, India. Passersby later found the toddler lying unconscious, naked and bleeding heavily as trains hurtled past just inches away.
It is said she was rushed to hospital and underwent life-saving surgery. Now the child is believed to be in a stable condition at another hospital in the city.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape as Police continue their investigation.
