Many Feared Dead As School Building Collapses At Itafaaji, Lagos Island
In a very sad turn of events, a three-storey building located in Itafaaji area of Lagos Island collapsed on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, around 10-11 am.
Reports say as many as 100 people, many of which are students are still trapped in the rubble. The collapsed building housed a primary school on its third floor.
Aside the Primary School located on the top floor of the building, the structure was reportedly a residential building with several apartments.
As at press time, scores have been rushed to the general hospital in Marina, but many others still sadly, remain trapped.
Emergency and rescue teams are currently at the scene of the incident, MDB can confirm.
The Lagos state Government has also confirmed the ongoing rescue operations.
