President Buhari Mourns 2 Nigerians On Board Ethiopian Plane Crash
President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolence over the death of two Nigerians, Ambassador Abiodun Bashua and Professor Pius Adesanmi in the Ethiopian Airlines plane which crashed with 149 passengers and eight crew members on board on Sunday.
The President in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu in Abuja expressed sadness over the crash that took the lives of two Nigerians and other people on board.
The statement reads:
I mourn the passing of Ambassador Abiodun Bashua and Professor Pius Adesanmi in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash which occurred yesterday. Distinguished Nigerians who did the nation proud in their professional endeavours.
My prayers and thoughts are with the families and friends of Amb. Bashua and Prof. Adesanmi, and of all the other passengers and crew who lost their lives in the crash. May the Almighty God give them the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

Yesterday, the President first condoled with Ethiopia over the crash, with a short statement posted on his official Twitter page:
