The University of Lagos has suspended Dr Boniface Igbeneghu, a senior lecturer and former sub-dean of faculty of art in the institution, for sexual harassment and abuse.
Igbeneghu’s sexual escapades was exposed by a 13-minute video documentary released by the BBC Africa Eye on Monday. (Read initial story HERE). He was caught on camera sexually harassing an undercover reporter who posed as a 17-year old admission seeker in the institution.
The vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, confirmed the suspension on Monday afternoon.
During an interview with newsmen Mr Ogundipe said the lecturer has been suspended indefinitely.
“A panel will be set up to investigate the issue,” he said.
His suspension follows the announcement by the Foursquare Gospel Church asking the Lecturer who also doubled as a head Pastor to step down. Read the statement HERE .
